Make your branch cuts at a point a couple inches or so above the main form of the plant. WebPrune your azaleas to their desired shape, making sure all branches are evenly distributed and the shrub has a balanced look. Trim away any wayward, overgrown branches and remove any damaged or diseased branches and foliage. Azaleas can also be lightly pruned to encourage fuller landscapes.
